In its COPUOS LSC 2026 Conference Room Paper, the Lunar Policy Platform identified the Lunar Ledger as a promising direction for advancing lunar information-sharing and coordination.
At the 2026 session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), the Lunar Policy Platform presented its Conference Room Paper on lunar information-sharing, setting out practical approaches to improving coordination as lunar activity accelerates.
Within the report, the Lunar Policy Platform identified the Lunar Ledger, developed by Open Lunar Foundation, as “a promising effort in this direction”, highlighting its potential to support more effective information-sharing across the lunar ecosystem.
The paper emphasises the growing importance of accessible, interoperable mechanisms for sharing data on lunar missions, activities, and infrastructure.
