2026, LSC, COSPAR Highlights Open Lunar Partnership at COPUOS

COSPAR, its UNCOPUOS LSC statement under Agenda Item 4: General Exchange of Views, referenced its partnership with Open Lunar to promote scientific information and data exchange under the Lunar Ledger initiative.

At the 2026 session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) highlighted its collaboration with Open Lunar Foundation, including a shared commitment to advancing information-sharing through the Lunar Ledger.

This builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year between COSPAR and Open Lunar, which formalises cooperation on supporting transparent, coordinated, and science-informed lunar activities. Through this partnership, COSPAR brings its global scientific expertise to help strengthen how information on lunar missions and operations is shared and understood.
