Louis Burtz earned a Master of Engineering in Space Systems Design and Control from ISAE-SUPAERO and a Master of Science in Astrophysics and Planetology from Universite Toulouse III. At ispace, he worked on the Hakuto lunar rover from conceptual design to flight model qualification, while the company grew from 10 to 100+ employees. Louis specializes in systems engineering for mobile robotics, autonomy and mission operations including lunar rover field testing and virtual simulation. At LunarVision, he worked and consulted on these topics within teams in the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Oman and the UAE. Most recently he serves as Chief Mission Officer for JAOPS, providing simulation software, mission control tools and operator training services to ensure the success of space exploration missions.
